DALLAS PRINTING recycles its waste paper and cardboard. We collect the materials as part of our normal manufacturing process and segregate the clean paper and cardboard streams into separate totes for maximum recycling efficiency.
Most of our paper waste is trim scrap and set-up scrap from printing press and bindery equipment set-ups. The trim scrap results from trimming printed pieces with bleed and cutting down finished-size products from larger run-size sheets. Set-up scrap is incurred at the beginning of each job process (both printing and print finishing operations) when initial product quality is being checked and the printing press and bindery equipment are adjusted as needed to ensure the best possible quality before running the complete job. Both the trim scrap and set-up scrap are very small quantities compared to the total volume of printed materials that we produce.

The cardboard that we recycle is primarily from the protective cartons that are used for delivering our paper, envelopes, and other materials. After use, we break down the cardboard cartons to flatten them and maximize the amount that will fit in a tote.
Dallas Printing is committed to maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste in all our operations. Minimizing the production of waste paper and cardboard while recycling that which is inherent to the manufacturing process is one way that we control costs while simultaneously helping the environment. Recycling reduces waste going to the landfill and decreases energy consumption in the production of new paper products via the use of recycled fibers.
